After six years as MVNU men’s soccer head coach, Andrew Belleman announced his resignation, effective at the end of spring semester. Belleman accepted a position as head coach of the men’s program at Arizona Christian University. With three young children, Belleman and his wife, Tiffany, were looking to live closer to family. Cougar basketball starting forward Jordi Mas is red shirting for his junior year at MVNU. Mas is healing from a knee injury that took place during the third game of the season against Northwest Ohio University. MVNU will host the annual Slam Dunks and Slices event for high school students on Jan. 28 and Feb. 4. The event is sponsored by Admissions as a way to bring potential students to the campus of MVNU. Senior guard Josh Ashwill scored his 1,000th career point against Grace College Wednesday night. Ashwill went into the game just seven points shy of 1,000. After more than a week of construction and upheaval, the MVNU cafeteria should return to normal within the next few days. Last Monday a break in the pipe running below the floor of the left side of the cafeteria forced University administrators to close half the cafeteria for emergency repairs. The Crossroads League will host a Destiny Rescue event at all athletic competitions tomorrow to help stop child trafficking. Destiny Rescue is an internationally recognized Christian non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing children trapped in human trafficking.
