Students and families enjoy OAKtoberfest

MVNU hosted Oaktoberfest on Friday, October 5, to celebrate the new autumn season.

This fall festival brings friends and family together to enjoy fall festivities. Many MVNU students come to Oaktoberfest to spend time with the people they love most. “I like Oaktoberfest because it provides an opportunity for myself and my friends to gather and fellowship while enjoy[ing] some fall activities,” said junior Kavasea Garrett.

The festival began with a family fall dinner in the Dining Commons, then Oaktoberfest officially began on the Oakwood Lawn. The event included fun activities for everyone to participate in. Students and community members of all ages were able to enjoy the hayrides, live music, fall snacks, including fresh kettle corn and much more.

Junior Jennalee Strous has always loved Oaktoberfest. “Oaktoberfest is a great time at MVNU to celebrate community, family and autumn. My family loves coming each year and getting pumpkin, kettle corn, apple candy and s’mores. I love doing fall activities with my friends and their families as well,” said Strous. “It makes me grow even closer to the ones I love here at MVNU.”
