Roby hits 1,000
Senior Eric Roby scored his 1,000th career point on Jan. 19, in a game against IndianaWesleyan University.
Roby is the 34th person in MVNU history to score 1,000 points or more for the men’s basketball program.
Robbie Taylor was thelast athlete to accomplish this goal for men’s basketball, scoring 1,259 points during his college career from 2008- 2012.
Roby is the first player to reach 1,000 points under head coach Jared Ronai.
Coming into the game, Roby was just six points shy of breaking 1,000. “My goal for the game was to beat
IWU, not to score 1,000 points,” Roby explained. “I honestly just went out to play as hard as I could for the team.”
The team was extremely excited for Roby when he reached the mark.
“This may look like an individual achievement, but it’s not,” Roby said. “This is a team achievement. Without the support of each teammate this would have not been possible.”
