Softball underclassmen step up

The Lady Cougars continue season play at home this weekend against Grace College.

Leading the team offensively are freshmen Maddie Johnston, Meghan May and Sarah Boue. The three players have made an immediate impact on the field for the team. Johnston is batting .328. May has recorded an average of .318 with 24 RBI and Boue is hitting .317 with 22 RBI. Sophomore Jennifer Kurelic is close behind batting .307 and 14 RBI.

The Boue sisters and Kurelic have secured the mound for the season.

Anna Boue records a 1.86 ERA and is 6-8 on the season.

Sarah Boue has a 3.26 ERA with a 5-7 record. Kurelic currently holds a 3.91 ERA and a 3-8 record.
