Rush for the slush

Slushies are making a splash at the 586 in the PSU.

The cool new item has been popular in the summer heat and will be available throughout the year. Sadie Patton, a 586 employee, says that the 586 sells about 15 slushies on an average day.

“Some guy bought three at one time all for himself!” said Shelby Booth, a 586 employee.The slushies are currently offered in two flavors: peach and blueberry pomegranate. Both flavors are available for $2.49.

Students said they like the moderate pricing. “I think they will be a hit,” said junior Cassondra Harting.

“I like how they mixed up the menu and got something new,” sophomore Maddie Miller agreed.

Though the slushies will be around all year, the flavors will change.

“Everyone was asking for peach,” a 586 employee said.The 586 is open weekdays from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 5 to 11 p.m. Weekend hours are from 7 to 11 p.m.
