M2540 needs crafters

M2540 is once again providing MVNU students the opportunity to shop for a good cause.

The Knox Needs Marketplace will take place this week, Nov. 15-18 in the cafeteria lobby. Shoppers may browse during lunch and dinner hours, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 5-7 p.m., each day.

Director of Community and International Ministries Catie Hayes encouraged all students to get involved. Students may donate items or purchase items to support the cause.

Items that will be available for purchase include paintings; mug cozies; knitted stuffed animals; baked goods; Christmas, greeting and birthday cards; and more.

Hayes chose to implement this year’s Marketplace as a creative way for students and staff to get involved with Knox Needs. She hopes all participants will enjoy making, donating or purchasing items.

“It’s also a good way to get Christmas gifts for others,” Hayes said.

Knox Needs is the campus initiative related to the Knox County Food for the Hungry drive that partners with the Salvation Army and Interchurch Social Services to help families throughout the county who are facing food insecurity.

For questions, donations or to volunteer to work the tables, stop by the Student Life office. Those interested can also contact Hayes at catie.hayes@mvnu.edu or Ashley Wall at ashwall@mail.mvnu.edu.
