Spaulding publishes monograph

MVNU President Dr. Henry Spaulding recently published a monograph titled We Believe: Engaging the Doctrinal Heritage of the Church of the Nazarene.

This monograph is a study of the sixteen articles of faith contained in the Manual of the Church of the Nazarene.

“I feel that people are interested in what we believe and why we believe it,” Dr. Spaulding said. “Every time the issue comes up in churches, people seem very interested.”

Dr. Spaulding said in his monograph that doctrinal language can help with an individual’s spiritual journey and defining their faith.

“Doctrine states in clear and succinct fashion the basic faith affirmations that inform our understanding of God, Grace, Sin, Holiness etc.,” he said. “They provide for us a picture of what the Church has believed, taught, and confessed.”
