MVNU hires men's soccer coach
The MVNU athletic department announced the hire of new men’s head soccer coach Zach Ganzberg last week.
Ganzberg brings his experience as the Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for the Bethel College men’s soccer team.
During his three years in Mishawaka, Indiana, Ganzberg recruited, handled compliance-related issues, led training session preparation and execution, and made in-game tactical decisions.
Ganzberg, a 2010 Bethel graduate, recorded 12 goals and six assists during his senior season, leading the Pilots to a Crossroads League tournament championship.
MVNU Athletic Director Keith Veale said Ganzberg will be a great fit and said he is “excited for the next chapter of MVNU soccer.”
“Zach’s heart to mentor young men through the game of soccer was evident,” Veale said. “He has a clear understanding of our competition in the Crossroads League.”
Ganzberg looks forward to joining the athletic staff at MVNU.
“I’m incredibly excited to see what God has in store for me and for the MVNU men’s soccer program,” Ganzberg said.
Being an assistant coach in the same conference as MVNU has given Ganzberg the chance to watch the Cougars compete.
“I’ve always been impressed with how the players and coaches have handled themselves,” Ganzberg said.
Ganzberg and his wife Rebekah will make the transition to Mount Vernon in the coming months, and he will start as MVNU’s head soccer coach on June 1.
Ganzberg replaces Andrew Belleman, who spent six years as head coach of the Cougars. Belleman is leaving MVNU at the end of the semester to become the head coach of the men’s soccer program at Arizona Christian University.
