It's Good to have a Spare

The belt took an unscheduled break this morning while Facilities worked quickly to exchange the motor with a spare.

“It’s not a happy thing, but we’re hoping they can get it fixed as soon as possible so there’s not any confusion during lunch or dinner today,” said Executive Chef, JD Oyster. “And, hopefully it doesn’t happen again.”

Facilities were in the dish room at around 10 a.m. working to replace the motor for the conveyor belt.

When Facilities ordered the new motor in December, they also ordered a second one as a spare. They didn’t want to run into the same problems as last time, like the back order, Oyster said.

“I just hope it goes real smooth and gets done as quick as possible so by lunch today it’s ready to go.”
