MVNU receives “best value” ranking
Best Value Schools has ranked Mount Vernon Nazarene University 26th among the Top 50 Best Small Colleges of 2016.
MVNU was ranked out of 1,000 nationwide 4-year colleges with a total enrollment under 4,000. The ranking is based on net price, retention rate, graduation rate and class size.
According to an MVNU press release, Best Value Schools said, “Mount Vernon Nazarene University receives funds from the Church of the Nazarene to assist students with tuition, making it one of the most affordable small colleges on the list.”
Director of Admissions and Student Recruitment Tracy Waal said families have been telling his office for years the financial aid awards make MVNU competitive with public universities. Waal added the percentage of students with jobs within a year of graduation from MVNU is “extremely high compared to the national average.”
“This latest ranking confirms what people are discovering,” Waal said. “We offer an affordable, quality education that means something after graduation.”
