Cougar crazies call on students for ideas

This semester SGA will implement a Cougar Crazies committee to provide theme ideas for home athletic events. Cougar Crazies refers to the student section at MVNU athletic games.

SGA’s Events Chairperson is typically responsible for creating theme nights for home events. However, this year’s chairperson, Jessica Wells, is seeking feedback and opinions from the student body.

“The committee will be a group of people who are passionate about supporting the athletics here at MVNU,” Wells said.

Hoping to engage fans, the committee’s responsibilities will include planning themes, activities, giveaways and more for home events.

The goal is to create a strong presence at athletic games and bring an infectious energy and encouragement to athletes as they represent MVNU.

Junior volleyball player Kelsey Bryte said University athletes are thankful for the support of the Crazies.

“Having the Cougar Crazies at our games is empowering. It gives us energy to know they are behind us and supporting us in our game,” Bryte said.

Getting the crowd involved encourages athletes and affects the team’s dynamic during a game.

“The Cougar Crazies bring a passion and energy that is contagious throughout the arena and that makes Ariel one of the hardest places to play in the conference,” said Josh Ashwill, senior basketball player.

Anyone is welcome to become part of the committee. For more information, contact Wells at wellsjp@mail.mvnu.edu.
